Outreach programs

The Museum Staff are available to give presentations to area clubs and organizations.  Speakers should be booked, at minimum, 4 weeks before the speaking engagement. If a new presentation is requested, that is not on the list below, we require at least 6 weeks notice.

Presentations that are available on 4 weeks notice:

They Weren’t all Rosies: The roles of Cobb Women During WWII: Because the majority of those overseas during WWII were men, it is easy to overlook the important roles of women held during that same time. Learn about our “Rosies” here at home, the nurse corps, women in noncombat roles, and more.

Remarkable Women of Marietta and Cobb County: Learn about remarkable women and how their accomplishments impacted life in Cobb County.

The Life and Times of Cobb County: Native Americans, the Great Locomotive Chase, wars, local businesses, and more!

Marietta City Cemetery:  Explore the history of the City Cemetery from its founding in 1831 up until today.

General Museum Talk: Learn the rich history of the antebellum Kennesaw House, which houses the Marietta History Center! Built in 1845, this building has seen more than we could imagine.

Regina Rambo Benson: Marietta’s Lady of Firsts: Learn the fascinating life story of Regina Rambo Benson, born in Brazil, raised in Marietta.  She was the first woman to drive 1,000 miles across the state in 1910.

For these outreach programs, we request a donation to the MHC of $50 for one presentation.
* If you are located outside of Cobb County, you may be subject to an additional travel fee based on mileage. Please contact us for exact pricing.
