The Marietta History Center is proud to announce the opening of a groundbreaking new exhibit, Seven Degrees of Connection: Marietta Stories and Artifacts from the Vault, set to open on Saturday, March 8th. This exhibit offers visitors a rare glimpse into never-before-seen artifacts from the Center’s permanent collection, each tied to fascinating local stories and unexpected connections between people, places, and moments in Marietta’s rich history.
The exhibit takes inspiration from the “Six Degrees of Separation” concept, illustrating how history connects us all — with a Marietta twist. Through carefully selected objects, photographs, and stories, Seven Degrees of Connection weaves together the hidden threads that link people, places, and events.
What to Expect:
- Never-before-exhibited artifacts from the MHC vault, each with a compelling connection to Marietta’s people, places, and events. Highlighted stories in this exhibition include
- Cobb County Prison Farm and the Old Marietta Courthouse
- Homecoming Parade for General Lucius Clay, architect of the Berlin Airlift
- Local Artist, Martha Gramling
- Respected Librarian, Florence Sibley
- Marietta City Schools
- Coach James “Friday” Richards
The mission of the Marietta History Center is to ignite curiosity in Marietta’s history by connecting people through compelling stories and engaging experiences. This exhibit will be on display at the MHC from Saturday, March 8th, 2025, through Saturday, May 10th, 2025.
